ABOUT

Rose Mallows, a symbol for ambition and everything feminine.

Over the last century there have been several famous Brazilian authors that have managed to enter into the international literary landscape, such as Paulo Coelho and Jorge Amado, but also female writers, including Clarice Lispector.

But the world of novels, poetry and illustration in Brazil is much bigger and more varied than English-speaking countries realise.

This blog is an attempt to lessen the gap between these two worlds: the Portuguese and the English-speaking literary circles. There will be regular posts containing texts about contemporary female writers and translations of their works.

The aim is to bring together in one blog two cultures divided by language but united by their humanity which shines through the words of the Brazilian women who will features in this blog.

it's been our pleasure
